London Headshots: Arturo, Male Soprano

London Headshots: Arturo, Male Soprano

Some of you know that when I’m not taking pictures (or toiling on the Mac) I’m also a classical singer. And as a musician I’ve given lots of consideration over the years to the art of studio headshots, seen countless examples in recital posters and concert programs, and even had my own share made by various photographers. With wildly varying degrees of satisfaction, I might add.

I promised myself when I began this business that once I found an easy rhythm to my wedding advertising and promotion I would begin promoting studio headshots as well. Needless to say, it’s been a rough year for finding any sort of easy rhythm. Nevertheless, watch this space. For a headshot photographer, London offers lots of possibility.

Introducing Arturo, photographed inside and lit entirely with ambient light. Studio headshots can be stunning, but sometimes a natural setting can elicit more natural responses to being a photographic subject. And a nicely lit day helps.

Interested in London headshots? They’re not just for actors, musicians, and book jackets. Use them on social and dating websites, frame them for display, or give as gifts. Contact me for more information. I operate throughout the Southeast.

Essex Wedding Planner: Kim Taylor

Essex Wedding Planner: Kim Taylor

Although I’ve had the pleasure of photographing two lovely winter weddings so far during the “low” season, the shorter days of the year are generally spent doing less photography and more of the “other stuff,” including sample book/album design, website tweaking, planning for the year ahead, and of course preparing for the tax deadline now staring at me directly in the face. The cold, cold, bitter cold weather (come on, I moved here from tropical Houston, Texas) helps to make sure that I spend my days huddling inside doing all of these responsible sorts of things. Which is why it was so great to escape the bonds of my Mac last Friday, get in my attention-starved car, and head just north of London (in the rain, no less; this is how dedicated I am) to take a few portraits of Kim Taylor, a wedding planner I first met doing Melissa and Allan’s wedding photography in Eastbourne last September. Speaking of Melissa and Allan, I now have in my hands a beautiful 18×10-inch Queensberry album….

I wonder how much time and money Kim can save you on your wedding? Check out Wedding Design by Kim.
